basket tote / perfume / crew neck / watch / sunglasses / skirt (Oasis via Ebay) / sneakers

I had a mad moment and purchased a blue camouflaged patterned denim skirt on Ebay. It's not what I was looking for AT ALL (I was actually on the hunt for a vintage Levi's maxi) but I just couldn't resist. It's deliciously (or dangerously?) Spice Girly with just the right amount of Jenna Lyons style quirkyness thrown in for good measure. Risky indeed, but at a mere £3, it's risk I'm willing to take. Next up? Acid wash denim jeans.

I can't decide whether or not to count this as one of my 'twelve things'? Only £3, but still...

  1. Hi, I've only just picked up on your blog and I think the clothes combinations you pick are just lovely. I had a quick look through your tumblr and I love the fact that you love grey so much - every time someone asks me what is my favourite colour - I always say grey. I have actually forbidden myself from buying any more grey jumpers as my wardrobe over the winter period was distinctly "grey". With respect to the acid wash jeans you featured on your tumblr - take a look in H&M, I saw a pair that might be up your street for £34.99 and I love them but I'm afraid do not suit me. Not on their website but I just saw them as I ran through the Leeds store the other day. Keep up the wonderful posts.

    1. aw thanks! that's a lovely compliment :) I totally LOVE grey, maybe I need to forbid myself from buying more too? I open my wardrobe and it's like 60% grey at least haha. I will definitely take a look in H&M for the acid wash jeans, I find them strangely alluring... although H&M trousers never ever seem to fit right on me! I think I may have unusually large legs for a size 8! :)

  3. Sorry, my PC played up and posted the above comment twice so I deleted the second copy. Didn't want you to think it was anything untoward. Sue

  4. I'm actually really drawn to the skirt, although not too sure if it would suit me personally. Love that it is blue rather than the standard green, and a the decent length kind of rescues it from spice girl territory surely!? It ought to work beautifully with the smart crew neck, which would smarten it up perfectly, especially with those lovely accessories!

    1. yes I had that same thought about the length - it actually arrived the other day and is longer than it looks on the picture and may need to be taken up! a knee length skirt is definitely out of Spice Girls territory :) it kinda reminds me of something Marissa would have worn on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, haha...

  6. Interesting... I totally see where you're coming from and I love the outfit you've paired it with but I don't think I can forget camo print first time round (at least, 1990s time round). I'm not ready yet! Love experimenting on ebay though. You can always resell it if you never wear it. x

    1. I am totally addicted to ebay! lol. As for the camo - I'll see how it works in practice, hopefully I can manage to style it in a way that only pays homage to the 90s, not recreates it!

  8. Ohh eBay, how we love you for your ability to make us buy things we normally wouldn't. I think it's great though because the risky things are quite often the best! YAY for camo! xxx
