Did I mention that I am obsessed with Netflix? Seriously, I don't know what I did with my evenings before it came along. The service released its first original series yesterday; a David Fincher remake of the 90s BBC drama House of Cards. When I first heard it was being made I was a bit mortified. I love the original, and couldn't get my head around transplanting the story into a contemporary American setting. I was so wrong -- The show is utterly fantastic (dare I say better than the original?), and just what I needed to fill the gaping hole in my life so cruelly left by Breaking Bad.
Netflix has unconventionally released the whole series in one go (because they are pioneering and awesome) so Robin and I are currently marathoning the entire thing. We're taking a quick break to refuel and recharge right now, so I thought I'd share some screen shots from the first five episodes. How amazing is the colour palette? So Fincher-esque in all it's lovely de-saturated glory. The wardrobe choices are a sartorial feast for the eyeballs; so many earthy tones and grey marls. You should go watch it right this second. Joy, I'm looking at you...
